Presented by L.R.G., we get another excellent presentation of new music by Freddie Gibbs. What I thought that sounded close to an album, Gibbs delivers another great freebie (that we should be paying for) to the masses. Listening to Gibbs should make anyone feel like an instant thug. Just make sure you don’t jump up thinking you ARE Freddie Gibbs. Not many of us are 187 proof. Hell I’m far from it. With Cold Day In Hell you get that all around great street album but with good lyrics. Very reminiscent of some west coast O.G. rap.

If you weren’t 100% impressed with Gibbs, this project will make you think otherwise. A few performances here and there then Freddie managed to get signed to CTE and it set a fire in him. Freddie seems to be where he wants to be at in his career and it shows in this tape. Even though he has very impressive features, they never outshine him and that’s what I look for in a good artist.

This mixtape is filled with street tales (Rob Me A Nigga), chin checkin’ shit talkin (B.A.N.ned), a sneaky love gone wrong (My Homeboy’s Girlfriend), and other records that make this a repeatable project. If you’re looking for flaws in this mixtape, you won’t find any. Unless you’re afraid of the aggression but that may be a personal problem. What Gibbs accomplishes on this project seems to be more of an effort to prove that he’s not a limited one dimensional rapper. Job well done.
