From Floorsleepers to Everything I$ Gold, 8 Must Have 2012 Beat Tapes
In preparation for our upcoming producers feature releasing in December, we thought we’d highlight a few of our favorite beat tapes that have been released by known and some lesser known producers in the hip hop industry. Below you’ll find 8 projects you might want to grab and up and keep note of the names for the 2013 season.
Nesby Phips + Floorsleepers Series
Nesby Phips, who is known for his work with Curren$y and the Jet Life crew, release a series of 5 beat tapes earlier this year. Each tape contained work of his own but he picked a significant group of individuals to accompany him on each product. The full series can be downloaded from his site here.
Woody’s Produce
Woody’s Produce is another great producer who has put together some interesting projects. The first that we got wind of was the Lemons Instrumental project, then he was featured on Casey Veggies CG3 project with Toe Tag, then he went on to do a Kanye West, Notorious B.I.G., and now OutKast remix projects. Chuck Inglish
Everyone knows who Chuck Inglish is. Recently he’s gotten into more of the production side going solo with his career for now while Sir Michael Rocks does the same and creates a brand of his own. Chuck who is slated to drop his debut album soon has released WRKING & WRKOUT this year, the first with some familiar beats and the rest Inglish flexing his muscles. The Olympicks
The Olympicks as some know are a production group who have slayed beats on projects for Lil Wayne to Rick Ross. These guys keep landing great placements and please believe they’ll be getting more in the near future with their new deal that just racked up. Download some beats that didn’t make it to Rick Ross’ Teflon Don project here.
Flying Lotus
Flying Lotus is someone who’s been on my radar to listen to for a while. Thankfully by watching late night Adult Swim shows, I’ve gotten the chance to preview some of his great works. His new album, ‘Until the Quiet Comes’ is available on Collectors Edition 180g Vinyl, Double Vinyl, CD & Download here.
Cardo
Everything I$ Gold was Cardo‘s first release with Fool’s Gold a bit earlier this year. You’ve heard him all over Wiz Khalifa, Chevy Woods, Gerald Walker, plus many others tracks this year. Might be a leader to be Producer of the Year with how many times we’ve dropped his name on the site. Check out Everything I$ Gold here.
Kid Swish
Our marketing director Kaitlin located this producer who doesn’t have a major following but that doesn’t mean Kid Swish doesn’t have production worth looking for. You can find his project Past Lyf here which will lead you to more project to download also!
El-P
El-P is on fire this year. Killer Mike and El-P teamed up for R.A.P. Music which has been critically acclaimed and has been one of the most talked about projects this year. Then right after that El-P dropped Cancer 4 Cure which Killer Mike urged fans to check out. As a specialty gift El-P dropped the instrumentals to the project on i-Tunes which can be grabbed here.
