I Came, I Saw, I Partially Listened to Maybach Music’s “Self Made Vol. 2″

Sin City played host venue to the listening of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Vol 2. Listening Session. I accompanied my friend J.D. from HipHopUpdate/JDotShots with no idea what was in store for us inside. Upon getting our I.D.’s checked on 4 times while watching the “talent” arriving with VIP status, I knew I could break the night down in three ways:

Great music:

All night the DJ played Maybach Music’s greatest hits ranging from I’m Not A Star, MC Hammer, 600 Benz, Big Bank, etc (you get the point). It seemed like the more star power that arrived, the harder the bass hit. A few songs you need to pay attention to that will grow legs of their own when Vol 2 drops: Power Circle feat Gunplay, Stalley, Wale, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, and Kendrick Lamar, Black Magic (aka David Copperfield) feat Rick Ross and Meek Mill, I Be Puttin On feat Wale, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, and Roscoe Dash.

Star Power:

It was apparent that there would be the MMG gang in the event but no one was sure who would all show up. Throughout the night I met a few folks like Eric and Jeff from Itsthereal.com, Lowkey from Youheardthatnew.com, Shahiem Reid from XXL & MTV, plus a few others. Then in came Drake (who had more security than everyone else), DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes, French Montana, etc you get it by now. For some reason Drake had his own man cave away from MMG. But I think it was a statement of “I’m sure I have more money than your crew and it’s your night” type of thing.

Distracting (look to the right of Sowmya):

Come on now. The party was in a strip club. As if it wasn’t hard enough to listen to the music and try to make sure J.D. didn’t start a dance off, the strippers were phenomenal. I’ve never seen bodies like that before. I now know where those Twitter models reside. Sin City.
