Most Valuable Spitta: Top Reasons Why Curren$y Is Our 2012 MVP

2012 was a great year for JENESIS and Curren$y. We were able to build up our demographic, do a large amount of free ticket giveaways, and put together a mixtape “Smoke One For Spitta” that got over 300,000 views on Livemixtapes.com.

1. Covers Our 50th Issue:

Shot in NYC, Curren$y made special time for Jordan Beckham and Journalist Jamar Thrasher to take exclusive photos and have a sit down during his busy run in NYC with Warner Brothers as he prepared to release information on his album and upcoming tour.  2. Smoke One For Spitta:

Mixed by DJ The New York Giant, this special compilation mixtape was premiered on Livemixtapes.com and received a lot of love from fans and Curren$y himself. The tweets of the mixtape didn’t stop until 4 months after it’s releast. You can download the mixtape here: http://www.livemixtapes.com/mixtapes/16927/curreny_smoke_one_for_spitta.html

3. Most Posted feature of 2012:

Of course Curren$y ended up being our most posted feature of 2012 beating out our usual suspects Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, DOM Kennedy, and Big K.R.I.T. He also put out the most product but that goes without saying as he averages at least 5 projects a year.

4. His feature led to working with Young Roddy & September feature Sir Michael Rocks:

Charne Graham got a chance to catch up with Roddy in Chicago and you can read the feature here along with 3 of our favorite quotable lines from the young Jet Life member: http://www.jenesismagazine.com/feature-young-roddy-taking-flight.html

Affiliated with the Jet Life Crew, Sir Michael Rocks linked with us at SXSW which later turned into our cover feature with him in September for our issue you can read here: http://www.jenesismagazine.com/jenesis-september-issue-featuring-sir-michael-rocks.html
