Nick Pratt and the CSB team took the lead in producing this latest release, Manifest Destiny, after connecting with labels and companies who couldn’t give them quite exactly what they needed. Nick connected with producers Brian “Peoples” Garcia, Solar Slim of Otaku Gang, RG, Cassius G, Zaire, and The UCE along with features Jaehill, Cassius G, Mario Dones, Allegra Pratt for his 14 track debut album. Following premieres of videos for “Elevated” and “2damnhard” which came through HipHopDX and The Smoking Section, things are looking up with the strong perserverance and support of his in-house team.

You can never count out a guy like Thurz because the creativity keeps on coming. We’ve seen strong campaigns from him in the past but his newest work with “Party In My Living Room,” one of the hottest events in LA is continuing to grow. Recently coming off a Lollapalooza version of the event, today he releases a special collaboration with Stance Socks with hand drawn party theme characters.
Chancelor Humphrey is one of the best at capturing Pittsburgh’s lifestyle. He’s also one of the leaders of pushing creativity in a city that still clutches its blue collar work very tightly.
After quite an impressive release with Aktive, the LNDN DRGS duo Jay worthy and Sean House deliver five new tracks of west coast funk featuring Mayhem Lauren, Dazzie Dee, and The Batta Ram. If you need some riding music for the rest of August, this is definitely top 5 for your rotation.

Mac Miller has been fairly quiet which usually means he’s slaving away at ideas and a new project. Recently he popped up on the scene with Dang! with one of the newest XXL Freshman Anderson .Paak that has given him something different, a grown-up dance track. Along with that, he’s announced a new Pittsburgh performance date after being apart of another sporting event, this time with the Steelers.
Along with the pre-order for The Divine Feminine album that is due 9/16, he’s announced 39 shows he’ll be doing in the Fall that people can buy tickets for HERE.

After just releasing “Jerome Raheem Fortune” earlier this year, we’re treated with another full piece of work by Rome Fortune titled “VVORLDVVIDE PIMPSATION.” Maybe we thought he was on chill after releasing his first album on Fool’s Gold and working on tour with The Range. But as history tells it with Rome, this is just another chess move for one of the hardest working artist in the world. Stream and download below:

If you’re familiar with Machine Gun Kelly’s movement then you know one thing’s for sure – there will be good times had with people that you’ll never forget. Even though there was no festival last year, this year’s get together will be sure to make up for the lost time.
Moving locations from Nelson’s Ledges might make you think the festival won’t be exactly the same, but it’s only fitting the new location will be a place called Ohio Dreams. The festival will bring together MGK fans from all across the Rust Belt, and even a few from around the world.
The Midwest region has never been a festival breeding ground, and for some attendees this may be their first real sleep over music festival experience. Most importantly you’ll need to prepare yourself with a great tent – even if you don’t plan on sleeping much. The last gathering brought nearly all night music and partying, so a dry, comfortable place to get at least a couple hours of sleep is essential.
Along with a dry tent, food, cooking equipment and utensils will be an essential part of enjoying your time spent out under the stars. Because you’ll most likely be drinking and dancing the weekend away, a full stomach will help you rage as hard and as long as possible. If you plan on bringing too much of one thing, make sure it’s the booze – that is if you’re of age of course.
“What I need a shirt for?” may be one of MGK’s favorite lines, but unless you’re someone who has a great base tan you’ll want to be rocking all your Lace Up gear. The most important clothing item to bring is extra footwear. If you’re like the Young Gunner, you’ll most likely be rocking a pair of “Chucks laced up,” but you’ll want to bring an extra pair just in case mud pits open up like in 2014. Along with extra shoes, bring at least one extra change of clothes for if you rage too hard – because you never know what’s going to happen when the world is ending.
It may have been mentioned before, but to reiterate, bring too much booze – whether it be your favorite beer or multiple bottles of Jameson. The only catch is that it needs to be in a plastic or can, no glass bottles. To get around having to buy the worst possible liquor on the market, simply get a large plastic bottle to bring you harder alcohol in. Also, remember that this isn’t a frat party so bring garbage bags for empties and when at the stage, find a trash can.
Being underage might make it seem like you’re not going to be able to have as fun as some of the other FEST goers, but remember you may actually be able to remember what actually went down. Memories last forever, and unfortunately so do underage drinking arrests. Lastly, don’t take any drinks or drugs from someone you don’t know – it shouldn’t have to be said but even the nicest people can turn on you
This year’s lineup is set to be a little different from past years, most prominently noted that it will have a host, Karen Civil. Announced so far are some of the biggest names in rap – A$AP Ferg and YG. Other artists that will be there include Cleveland’s Dub-O, King Chip and Ray Jr. Past FEST performer, frequent musical collaborator, and video director Mod Sun is also scheduled an appearance. The two-day festival will include a slew of DJs like EV and Ace. Expect most of them to be performing Friday and very late into the night.
Another artist who we’d love to show up is actually one who will be appearing next week on Showtime’s Roadies which MGK plays a Wes, a babysitter, roadie and coffee extraordinaire. If you watched Sunday’s episode you know that artist is Hasley. Although she’s currently on her ‘Bandlands’ tour we wouldn’t be surprised to see her Friday night as she has a night off.
Because you’re still reading this you most likely have some interest in one of The Land’s most successful rappers. And if you listen to his music you know that “Everyone Stands Together.” Rage as hard as possible all weekend long but just make sure you’re keeping track of your friends, and most importantly, yourself. Stay hydrated and eat lots of food so you’ll be able to make it to the wee hours of the morning and possibly see the festival’s main man walking around connecting with his fans.
Past festivals have brought thousands, so arrive early Friday. Bring extra battery supply for your phone as well, because we all know you’ll want to make your other friends who decided they didn’t want to rage very jealous. You can purchase your tickets here, find more info, directions and official updates on est-fest.com as well as their twitter @estfestohio.

A long time favorite at JENESIS, Hassani Kwess delivers a new 16 track EP, PinkSongsEP. If you talk to him, you’d know this project is something he is proud of. In our opinion Hassani connects the best with producer MisterNeek on such tracks like stand out “OurSide” and “U Don’t” but he sounds most comfortable delivering his “Tron Wave” with Pleasure Curses on “Eye Scene.” You can listen for yourself below via Soundcloud:
