Drake is resurrecting Aaliyah as he executive produces “her” new album. Check it out as the team speaks on the creation of the new music.
Persiah: DUMP – Doesn’t sound true to Aaliyah. Drake whisperin’ ad-libs like he’s Al B. Sure. Sounds like a track that didn’t make it to “Take Care.” When will Missy, Timb, and Dame Dash put a stop to this?
Tip: Pump It – Everyone’s asking what does Aaliyah’s team (Timbo, Missy, etc.) think about this….I say if it’s that big of a deal they could of done this years ago. I like the track; haters can hate but Drake is making good music. This is just the beginning. RIP Aaliyah!
Mary: Dump It – This track sounds like an awkward gene splice. Not a bad verse by Drake, but it seems like an afterthought amidst all those pretty vocals. Plus, dude says “what’s up?” about ten too many times – if she doesn’t answer after the first five, she’s not gonna answer!
Kaitlin: Dump It – I’m not fond of hearing Drake’s voice against Aaliyah vocals, it seems and sounds out of place. His repetitive ‘what’s up’ ad-libs annoyingly clash with the composure of the song. I feel like Drake has an intense obsession with Aaliyah and after the 2 tattoos he has for her this seemed to be the next step.
Jamar: Pump it – Drake’s rhymes are good. I would have enjoyed it better if another Aaliyah vocal was used, though. It has been a long time since I heard new music from Aaliyah and I was expecting something more.
