[Under The Radar] Profile: Chancellor Warhol
This artist has been featured in a lot of press; BMI, PETA, Billboard.com, and Break on a Cloud just to name a few. Chancellor performed at Bonnaroo last year, and is already confirmed to perform at SXSW and Lollapalooza in 2012.
Tracks Submitted: “That Right One” speaks to the ladies from a man’s standpoint. In his video, Backstage Bonnaroo, Chancellor tells the tale of how a friend of his came up with the beat and hook; who is also present in the video on the guitar. He spits his rhymes while another friend creates a beat on the table. I loved the old school vibe, the “gully” aspect of it all. Again, I’m a huge critic of new artist showing off too much, but he shows a sense of humility about himself that I liked. This song put me in the mindset of the Common/John Mayer combo in “Go.” It had a lot of character.
Quality: His music possessed great quality and culture. His sounds are very easy on the ears, and I loved the cover art for each of his projects. From the look of the cover you could already tell that you were about to listen to something unique.
