What prompted your start for your career path?
It was pretty accidental. I just put out a CD full of songs I’d been recording and it was embraced by my community to the point where I was getting gigs locally and folks were supporting me independently. Around 2006 I decided to drop everything and just make music my main source of income – It was a good choice!
Who first recognized your talents and what it meant to you?
There were a few folks, but it was a producer named Asi Friedman who first put me in the lab and took time to help build my sound.
First problem you have come across?
As an up and coming artist what was it that you seen that you needed to improve on?
Taking criticism and being open to dialoguing about my music.
How will you make an impact given a chance?
By hopefully getting people to realize that music alone can’t fix the ill’s of our communities, but can be used as a tool to raise awareness around the people’s struggles – eventually (hopefully) getting the people to organize and win that social change we need.
Why should people take notice in your work?
Because I’m dope as fuck! Los Angeles STAND UP!
