What prompted your start for your career path?
Music has been a part of me my whole life, but it wasn’t until I got to college (UC Riverside) that I realized I had a special gift. My colleagues were amazed by how musically inclined I am and pushed me into this path that God has set forth for me.
Who first recognized your talents and what it meant to you?
As I previously mentioned, it was my colleges, specifically my first group of friends in college that gave me the courage to pursue my dreams. And the feeling? Now that was overwhelming. I hadn’t had so much support from friends like that in my life. Music was always something I wanted to do, but I didn’t realize that I could actually do it until they came along. For that, I appreciate them forever.
First problem you have come across?
Call me crazy, but I expected love and support to be reciprocal. I didn’t realize that everyone doesn’t want what’s best for you, especially if they aren’t where they want to be in life. It’s a hard pill to swallow, and I’m still dealing with it. However, I thrive off of it, and it makes me go harder everyday.
As an up and coming artist, what was it that you seen that you needed to improve on?
I realized that in order to be known, I have to self-promote myself. This was hard for me since I am a naturally humble and modest person, but I had to break away from my comfort zone and realize that if you want something done, you must do it yourself. Sometimes, you gotta do the things you don’t want to in order to be where you want to. It’s a part of life. I struggle with it, but through time I’m improving.
How will you make an impact given a chance?
I will bring light to this dim and problematic world. I will bring peace and tranquility to hard times. I’ll help people remember what love feels like because it seems we’ve forgotten. To sum it all up, I just want to make people happy, man. I want to see everybody smile.
Why should people take notice in your work?
I’m on to something new; something different. We’ve been doing the same thing for a while now and it’s getting boring. It’s time for a change. I have a voice and a vibe that is very unique and eclectic, very tranquil and psychedelic, and this is the audible medicine ears have been waiting for.
