What prompted your start for your career path?
I love the way music makes me feel. It’s cool how you can listen to a song and feel a certain way and recall certain memories. I’ve always been over-imaginative and music is the perfect avenue for me to get all of my ideas out.
Who first recognized your talents and what it meant to you?
My friend Sam. He’s my recording engineer and he’s like a big brother to me. I met him in 9th grade and we’ve always had a mutual passion for making music. I feel like we inspire each other to get better and keep working.
First problem you have come across?
I just started my freshman year at the University of Pittsburgh this year. Time management is extremely hard with college and music. I always feel like there isn’t enough hours in the day. I think time goes faster the older you get.
As an up and coming (depends on artistry) what was it that you seen that you needed to improve on?
My production. I’ve been making beats longer than I’ve been rapping and I feel like most of my beats are missing something. Hopefully that’ll come with time and practice.
How will you make an impact given a chance?
I really want to give back to the city. When artists blow up, they move to LA or some place and forget home. Pittsburgh made me the kid I am today and I feel like I belong here. If I ever make it anywhere, it’s my responsibility to return the love and support to those who showed it to me.
Why should people take notice in your work?
There’s a million other kids like me out there who want to be heard. Most people don’t care to hear any new rappers. Who doesn’t rap these days? It’s my job to catch people’s attention and make them want to listen to me. If something is good enough, people can’t ignore it. My goal with everything I do is make it impossible to ignore.
