What prompted your start for your career path?
It started with my love for the works from other artist. It inspired me to be just as creative, if not more. I used to illustrate rappers from hip hop magazines when I was younger so design and art have basically always been apart of my life. I have pretty much been involved in the design field of hip hop for a while now but It evolved from drawing portraits to doing mixtape covers for DJ’s.
Who first recognized your talents and what it meant to you?
My tenth grade art teacher Mr. Sarney was the first person to point out my creative talents and was surprisingly a fan of my art work. After that, I started getting more recognition once I got into photography and video. I began freelancing a lot of different projects which lead to a few industry artist to acknowledge my work and it continued like a snowball effect.
First problem you have come across?
Working with unprofessional people. It takes a lot of time for preparation and bookings and when someone does not follow through with there half it intervenes with other projects.
As an up and coming photographer what was it that you seen that you needed to improve on?
Branding myself better. I needed to find a way to market myself as a brand that didn’t box me in as just one entity. I didn’t want to be considered just a “photographer”
How will you make an impact given a chance?
The impact I would love to give is to the younger generation – whether it be photography, video , design or motivating to them to do something positive with their talents.
Why should people take notice in your work?
Because I’m not afraid to push limits, I don’t knock any photographer or designer with their creativeness but I don’t like to be pigeon held into one category. Which is why I call it “Creatography” because I do more than photography. For example, I’m venturing into clothing design and will be releasing my first collection Spring 2013. My brand is about doing videos, design, marketing, blogging and putting others just as creative as me to the forefront.
